The city's annual Touch-A-Truck event will be held tonight from 5-6:30 p.m. at the Chaska Community Center parking lot. The free event gives kids an opportunity to get up close and personal with city vehicles like fire trucks, police cars, snow plows and such. There will be plenty of activities to fill the long Fourth of July holiday weekend in Chaska this year.

The Jonathan Association will hold its annual Jonathan Fourth of July Fun Run Friday. The run begins at 8:15 a.m. at the Early Childhood Center (110600 Village Road) and goes through Jonathan and along the shores of Lake Grace. Runners, walkers and strollers are welcome. Participants will receive a commemorative T-shirt.

“Those aren’t regulars,” note Kathy Skinner, assistant director, and Joan Seedorf, recreation coordinator for the Chaska Parks and Recreation Department (which oversees The Lodge).

This year, the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum Auxiliary Garden Tours, offered Tuesday, July 15, & Wednesday, July 16, will feature four distinct and stunning private gardens in Wayzata, Eden Prairie, Chaska and Chanhassen.
