Hennepin Theatre Trust’s 2007-08 SpotLight Musical Theatre Program is holding an awards ceremony to honor area musical theater.

Honorees were selected from among 25 Minnesota metro high schools, including Chaska.

The year-long SpotLight education program culminates with the 2007-08 SpotLight Musical Theatre Program Awards Ceremony held 7 p.m., Sunday, June 8 at the Orpheum Theatre, according to a press release.

Chaska High School received awards for its fall musical “The Pajama Game,” including:

* Outstanding overall production of a musical* Outstanding performance by a chorus ensemble * Outstanding performance by a dance ensemble* Outstanding performance by an orchestra* Outstanding performance in a leading role: Kate Hamilton (as Mabel)* Outstanding performance in a leading role: Tyler Ryan (as Hines)* Honorable mention, performance in a leading role: Joel Peterson (as Sid)* Technical achievement: Carmen Bernu (costume design)
