The Chaska Area Chamber of Commerce, Chanhassen Area Chamber of Commerce and Victoria Chamber of Commerce boards of directors recently voted to disband and create a new regional Chamber of Commerce.

“This was a decision we took very seriously and considered very carefully,” stated Lon Hand, current board chair of the Chaska Area Chamber of Commerce, in a press release.

 “We talked with our members and asked for their feedback, and the overwhelming response was that their needs would be better served by a larger, regional organization,” stated Mark Halla, chair of the Chanhassen Area Chamber of Commerce.

According to Chaska Area Chamber President Deb McMillan, the Victoria and Chanhassen boards voted unanimously to move toward the regional chamber, while the Chaska Area chamber voted 7-2.

If combined, the organization would number about 450, according to the press release.
