The U.S. Postal Inspection Service is offering a $500 cash reward for information regarding a U.S. Post Office mailbox that was burned over the weekend.
According to a press release, the incident occurred around 8 p.m. on Saturday outside of the Chaska Post Office at the corner of Third and Pine streets.
The U.S. Postal Inspection Service is looking for identifying information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Postal Inspector Keith Hayden at (651) 293-3236 or the Chaska Police Department at (952) 448-4200.
According to a press release, all of the pieces of mail inside the mailbox were completely destroyed. Those customers who placed mail in the box after 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 4 are asked to notify the intended recipients and contact the Chaska Post Office in person or by calling (952) 448-4392.
