MnDOT officials learned that it will receive Federal Stimulus Dollars to complete the full landscaping plan along the new Highway 212 corridor, according to Mayor Gary Van Eyll’s weekly newsletter.
Finishing the landscaping wasn’t in the original budget and, according to the newsletter, the state will receive $750,000, with $250,000 specifically designated for Chaska.
City staff is working with MnDOT to fill visual gaps along the freeway corridor and to block site lines from houses to the highway; and to help beautify significant areas of the freeway corridor, particularly at the interchanges, the newsletter stated.
If residents of the community are interested in viewing the landscaping plans or have comments, please contact the City Engineer, Bill Monk, at (952) 448-9200.
