Moviegoers expecting to catch a late showing of “Hancock” in Chaska earlier this week may have been surprised to hear Will Smith’s character speaking Spanish throughout the movie. It was no fluke.

Hancock is just one of seven movies the Rex Cinema is showing this fall in an attempt to capture a slice of the local Hispanic movie-going population.

'Snot' of famous Ren Fest duo dies of apparent heart attack

According to a press release from the Minnesota Renaissance Festival, the famous Puke & Snot family is mourning the death of Joe Kudla, also known as Thomas Snot to hundreds of his fans.  Kudla passed away Monday morning in his northeast Minneapolis home from an apparent heart attack.

Orphans in Africa are the subject line of countless fundraisers, the images of many infomercials, the topics of many church missions. Alex Fournier, 30, of Eden Prairie decided to take a few steps further, traveling to Africa to spend times in a boys' home that's sponsored by his church.

Restaurant owner Bryan Turtle said about 500 specialty cars may show
up for tonight's Minnesota Valley Rally in downtown Shakopee.

A
spin-off of a car show that used to occur mid-week, the rally is
expected to draw a much larger crowd because it's being held Fridays,
every other week.

There will be street vendors and area shops
will also be open. The first event is tonight, with remaining shows
scheduled for July 18; August 1, 15 and 29 and Sept. 12 and 26.



He's got 'Curb Appeal': Chaska native hosts HGTV show

There’s a familiar face gracing Monday nights on HGTV these days. Former Chaska resident Sasha Andreev is one of the new hosts of “Curb Appeal” - a show dedicated to teaching homeowners how to improve their home’s exterior appearance.

The 27-year-old admits that he had little experience in outdoor beautification when he took on the job.

Tickets for the 2009 PGA Championship, to be held at Hazeltine National Golf Club in Chaska, will go on sale to the general public at noon on Wednesday.

Fans may secure tickets by visiting www.pga2009.com or by calling (800) PGA-GOLF. The upcoming 2009 PGA Championship will be held Aug. 10-16, 2009.
