Don F. Cadotte

Don Cadotte, 78, of Carver, has passed away.

Private graveside services will be held.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marlene. Survived by children, Gail (Jimmy) Lane, Michelle (Sid) Mulder, Vicki (Jeff) Sweiberger, Renee (Tom) Wheeler, Denise Cadotte; and grandchildren, Theresa, Christina, and Tommy Wheeler.

Arrangements were handled by Washburn-McReavy Eden Prairie Chapel, 952-975-0400.

James William Berry

James “Jim” Berry, 73, of Jordan, passed away at his home Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2008.

He was born April 25, 1935 to Hilburn and Alice (McBane) Berry in Watertown, Minn. He married Marie Schirmacher on Nov. 23, 1956 at the First Methodist Church in Faribault, Minn. Jim loved to fish, hunt, travel, read and do woodworking. He was a member of Valley Evangelical Free Church in Chaska.

He will be loved and forever missed by wife, Marie Berry of Jordan; children, Diane (Donald) Ostlie of Montevideo, Denise (Scott) Lacher of Jordan, Michael (Katherine) Berry of Leavenworth, Kan.; seven grandchildren, Nathan Ostlie, Tracy Ostlie, Beth Ostlie, Holly (Jeff) Winslow, Anne Lacher, Tate Berry and Coty Day-Harrell; brother, Harlan “Bud” Berry of Fridley.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, John Berry; sister, Irene Hanson.

Celebration of Life service was Saturday, Oct. 4, at 11 a.m. at Valley Evangelical Free Church, Chaska, with visitation 1-1/2 hours prior to the service at church. Pallbearers were Lonn Hanson, Joseph Hanson, John Armstrong, David Berry.

Memorials are preferred to Robins Nest Orphanage (Jamaica), Ridgeview Foundation c/o Hospice Memorials in Waconia, Minn. or a local Women’s Shelter.

Dwayne Delano Belter

Dwayne Belter, 75, of Belle Plaine, died Friday, Oct. 3, 2008 at St. Gertrude’s Health Care Center, Shakopee.

Funeral service was held Tuesday, Oct. 7, at 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Carver, with the Rev. Allen D. Holthus officiating. Casketbearers were Erin Bruesehoff, Alison Bruesehoff, Andrew Tesch, Katie Waltner, and Dylan Notermann. Private family inurnment will be at Mount Hope Cemetery, Carver.

Dwayne was born July 23, 1933 in Norwood, Minn. to Theodore and Alice (Herrmann) Belter, one of five children. He was baptized at Zion Lutheran Church, Norwood, and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church, Carver. He attended country school near his home. On Feb. 14, 1958 Dwayne married Shirley Kopecky at the Zoar Church in Cologne. They had four daughters. Dwayne served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was employed at Bongard’s Creamery for 40 years. He enjoyed raising ducks, chickens, and geese and also attending the Sales Barn in Belle Plaine on Thursdays. His wife Shirley died in July of 2007.

Dwayne was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Alice, and loving wife, Shirley.

Survivors include his daughters, LuAnn (Ron) Gordon of Savage, Janette (Dan) Bruesehoff of Cologne, Diane (Alan) Fahey of Shakopee, and Kathleen (Randy) Notermann of Henderson; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brothers, Roger (Carol) Belter of Carver, Gordon (Julie) Belter of Fort Collins, Colo.; sisters, Sylvia Schultz of Norwood, Liela (Elmer) Buszmann of Belle Plaine.

Funeral arrangements were with the Bertas Funeral Home of Chaska, 952-448-2137.

Paul Damian Bishman

Paul Bishman, 63, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly at his home in Chaska on Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2008.Paul BishmanPaul Bishman

He is survived by his wife, Judy; daughters and sons-in-law, Tanya Bishman Gertz and husband Faust William, of Decorah, Iowa, Andrea “Andi” Bishman Egbert and husband Darin, of Minneapolis; son and daughter-in-law, Joshua Paul Bishman and wife Emily, of Rochester; granddaughter, Morgan Grace Egbert; brothers, Allen and wife Kate, Mark and wife JoAnn, Myron and wife Jeanette, and Edward; sisters, Betty, Evelyn, and Marlys; godsons, Arnie Elsenpeter, Randy Zimmerman, and Lee Bishman. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lyle and Angeline (Bottema) Bishman.

Visitation was held Friday, Oct. 3, from 4-8 p.m. at the Bertas Funeral Home in Chaska. The funeral service was held on Saturday, Oct. 4, at 11 a.m. at Crown of Glory Lutheran Church in Chaska with Pastor Reggie Klindworth officiating. Paul was buried at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Chaska.

Paul was born March 6, 1945 in Hutchinson, Minn. He was raised on a family farm between Hutchinson and Dassel, Minn., along with his seven brothers and sisters. He attended high school at Waseca Southern School of Agriculture and college at Mankato State University. He served in the Army Reserve. In his earlier years, Paul had his private pilot’s license and flew with the Aerobatic Flying Club in Eden Prairie.

Paul worked for several construction companies and built bridges, pole barns, and homes throughout the state, most recently with Carpentry Contractors Corporation. He had just begun his third year as a school bus driver in Chaska, and he enjoyed the friendship of many children on his Parrot route. Paul was a gifted carpenter who built many things in his lifetime, including the two homes in Chaska where he and his beloved wife Judy raised their three children. He helped design, assemble, and finish the wooden cross that hangs in the sanctuary of Crown of Glory Lutheran Church, where he was a long-time member. He was a man of integrity and faith. Paul loved to fix and modify engines. He and his son Josh raced go-kart #48 for eight years, and in recent years, they drag-raced Josh’s red 1978 Camaro. His garage was home to countless projects over the years and a gathering place for many friends. Paul also loved fishing, dancing, telling jokes, and collecting sticks and rocks with his 17-month-old granddaughter, Morgan. He enjoyed dogs, Elvis’ music, and dreaming up new projects.

Paul was soft-spoken, mischievous, humble, and hard-working. He always showed compassion for the needs of others and loved his family deeply. He will be missed.
