Carver Steamboat Days rolls in Sept. 5, 6 and 7

Steamboat Days is coming to Carver in just a few days. With it, comes some favorites, such as Lisa’s Catfish Contest and the firefighters waterfights.

However, this year also features a few new items such as “Carver’s Got Talent” (see related story) and mechanical bull riding.

Friday Sept. 5

9 a.m.-5 p.m.: City Wide Garage Sales. Maps Available www.carversteamboatdays.org or at local businesses.

4 p.m.-1 a.m.: Food vendors serve a variety of foods, including brats, pork burgers, walleye fingers, cheese curds, ribs and funnel cakes

4 p.m.-dusk or later: Games and kids activities in downtown Carver

3 p.m.: Register for Lisa’s Catfish Contest. More info: (952) 448-76224 p.m.: Lisa’s Catfish Contest Begins

4 p.m.-1a.m.: Lions Tent Open; Steamboat Days Weiner Stand Open

4 p.m.-7 p.m.: Carvers Got Talent Auditions—Lion’s Tent Stage

4 p.m.-12 a.m.: Mechanical bull riding behind sammy’s

4 p.m.: Medallion hunt begins; first clue posted. Prize sponsored by Midwest Boat Appeal

6 p.m.-9:30 p.m.: Fire safety trailer in downtown Carver

5 p.m.-7 p.m.: Custom motorcycle Show—Downtown Carver

8 p.m.-12 a.m.: Music by Shaw Brothers in Lions Tent

8 p.m.-12 a.m.: Music by Zoo Patrol—outside Sammy’s

Saturday Sept. 6

9 a.m.-5 p.m.: City Wide Garage Sales. Maps Available www.carversteamboatdays.org or at local businesses

10 a.m., 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.: Medallion hunt clues posted

10 a.m.-11a.m.: Children’s Pet Show, Bring Your Pets to Lions Tent

10 a.m.-2 p.m.: Historic carriage rides and Olde Time Games Riverside Park

10 a.m.-3 p.m.: Carver Black Sox Memorabilia at Village Hall

11 a.m.-4 p.m.: Mouse and Minnow Races at Gazebo Park

12 p.m.-1 p.m.: Wonder Weavers Storytelling & Magic in the Gazebo

12:30 p.m.-3:30 p.m.: Front Porch Swinging Liquor Pigs in Lions Tent

1 p.m.-3 p.m.: Fireman’s Water Fights, downtown Carver

Approx 3 p.m. (after water fights): Burn Out Contest in Riverside Park

3:30 p.m.: Carver’s Got Talent Semi-Finals / Finals —Gazebo Park

10 a.m.-12 p.m.: Games and Activities

10 a.m.-12 p.m.: Food Vendors

11a.m.-1 p.m.: Wonder Weavers Clowns in Town

12:30 p.m.-1 p.m.: Kiddie Parade

1 p.m.-2 p.m.: Centex Steamboat Days Parade. Grand Marshals are the Carver Black Sox Baseball Team; prizes and medallion winner announced.

2 p.m.-6 p.m.: Food Vendors, Games and Activities

2:30 p.m.-4:30 p.m.: Mouse/Minnow Races at Gazebo Park

7 p.m.: R&R Wrestling at Lisa’s Place

All Day: St. Nicholas Church Activities Country Store, Petting Zoo, Chicken Dinner, Kids Games
