Carver County Communicators Toastmasters Club is holding an open house at 7 p.m., Monday, July 14 at Chaska Community Center.
The group has invited our District 6 Governor Pat Croal as a guest speaker who will help participants disassociate with the fear of public speaking.
Carver County Communicators has members from Chaska, Mayer, Norwood/Young America, Victoria, Waconia, and Watertown.
Meetings are held the second and fourth Mondays of every month at 7 p.m. for about an hour, at the Chaska Community Center, 1661 Park Ridge Drive.
Guests are welcome anytime, and the club welcomes new, transferring, or dual members, according to a press release.
Toastmasters International is an organization devoted to effective communication and leadership development.
Through its member clubs, Toastmasters helps participants practice communication and leadership skills with others who are there for the same reason, using a “workshop” approach at meetings. “Toastmasters helps you gain control of those butterflies in the stomach if you have to speak in front of a group of people,” stated the press release. “Toastmasters helps you express your thoughts and ideas clearly, eliminating those ‘ahs’ and ‘ums.’”No experience is necessary to join. There is a one-time $20 membership fee to join, and dues of $33 semi-annually thereafter.
