I enjoyed the "Taste" video Mollee - well done! It was fun to watch for familiar faces in the crowd, and I saw several. However, I did find myself becoming hungry as I watched all of the food being prepared and consumed!!

Grandma Carol reports that

Grandma Carol reports that Emma's benefit was a huge success:
"There were about 700 people there and they served 650 dinners. On Thursday and Friday, they had lots and lots of silent auction items brought in. Many sets of sporting event tickets, theater tickets, etc. Some of them worth $200 to $400 each. It was bigger than anyone of us imagined. We did run out of spaghetti just before it was time to quit. We cooked 70 pounds of spaghetti noodles and served 60 pounds of salad! They deposited several thousand dollars into an account for Emma. Money for the silent auction items and other donations have been coming in also."

FYI: In conjunction with Worlds Away, the Walker and the Metropolitan Design Center are presenting the panel discussion Next Exit: The Shifting Landscape of Suburbia.

The free program, at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 24, addresses issues facing city planners, designers, and developers as our Minnesota suburbs continue to grow. In today's expanding metropolitan areas, the lines between urban and suburban are blurring.

Panelists Lance Nekar, Metropolitan Design Center; Dan Bergin of Twin Cities Public Television; and Michael Lander of Lander Group, a development corporation, will discuss population growth, immigration, and transportation, how suburbs are becoming destination environments, and the cultural implications of these shifts.

Independent journalist Todd Melby moderates what should be a lively debate and discussion.
