Barry Bonds' record-breaking home run ball will be branded with an asterisk and sent to Cooperstown.
Ten million people voted online over an eight-day period to come to that consensus. The vote was set up by fashion designer Marc Ecko who purchased the ball from an online auction for more than $750,000.
Voters were given three choices: bestow the ball intact to the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York; banish it to space; or brand it with an asterisk before sending it to Cooperstown. Forty-seven percent of voters chose to brand it.
