And, lest we forget our own county celebrations, Norwood Young America hosts the 146th annual Stuftungfest this weekend.

Stuftungfest means "Founders' Day Festival." The event, billed as Minnesota's oldest community celebration, was founded a mere three years after the first Minnesota State Fair was held.

This year, it's Friday through Sunday, Aug. 24-26.

And if that doesn't sound exciting enough, the city of Barnesville hosts its annual Potato Days Festival on Friday and Saturday to celebrate the city's potato heritage.

Among the events: potato cook-off, potato-picking contest, potato-peeling contest, the Miss Tator Tot contest, a Potato Scramble for kids and MASHED POTATO WRESTLING!
